Going to the Emerald Coast - Gulf of Mexico this year for Spring Break? If you are traveling from Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri...you may find yourself driving through Phenix City, Alabama...well, things have changed in this small, friendly southern area!! Check out what is happening on the Chattahoochee River Whitewater! The longest Urban Whitewater rafting course in the World ranked by USA Today as the Best Manmade Whitewater on the planet. With daily hydraulic power generation from the North Highlands Dam, this 2.5 mile course goes from Mild to Wild in just a few minutes. Low Flow excursions consist of an easy, laid back adventure with Class II - III rapids while the High Flow trip will see the river in excess of 10,000 cubic feet per second and the infamous Class IV+ Cutbait Rapid.

 

 

This Riverfront is also home to some of the best kayaking features anywhere in the Southeast! If you don't know how to kayak, visit one of our local outpost to see what you have been missing.

 

And then there is the Blue Heron zipline....a 1,200 foot dual zip across the Chattahoochee River starting from the Columbus RiverWalk and ending in Alabama with a Tree-top adventure on the Phenix City RiverWalk!!



 

This area is also home to such events as the RiverFest Weekend and The Chattahoochee OysterFest both held in May each year! So, Why not stop off on the way to Spring Break and spend a few days or plan an entire vacation to one of the hidden gems of the Southeast!
